I am just absolutely disturbed by how many local gas stations are able to sell illegal paraphanilia for methamphetamine use.... they are covered up by having a rose in them~ big deal! Anyone can just walk in and buy these products or steal them as for they are right on the counter in some stores. I refuse to give my business to places that sell these products, and let me tell its hard to find ones that don't..... But why are these legal and why aren't we doing something about it???

My Fiance is in prison because of lack of resources given by the government.

I met my Fiance 6 months ago and he was doing probation form a 3 yr sentence for dealing meth. After 3yrs he still wanted to go out and find the resources to do it but knew at the same time it was wrong. He continually asked his probation officers for help and there was no availability open. All facilities were full and he was turned away...I witnessed this! When he met me I turned him around...no I couldn't stop the addiction but I made him beg for mercy over this drug and he truly wanted to live a normal life that no one had shown him since he started doing it. Nevertheless, he failed his drug test awaiting rehab and now he is back in prison. He is faced everyday with offenders that can't wait to get out to start dealing and using again. Since he has been clean in prison and basically went through his own detox he is going crazy of the thought of not being here with me and our family. He should not be in prison...he asked for help. No one knows especially the prosecutors and the judge that sentenced him what we went through to turn him around. Many months of crying, detoxing, fighting, ultimatums...but I could see through the drug and knew he wasn't a lost soul and a brilliant person. I miss him so much but I'll wait for him. I have wrote the Mayor and other officials about my story but honestly it is all politics. I have even offered information up to take down offenders on the street I knew about through my Fiance for mercy on his sentence but I keep getting ignored. Am I just out of luck...is there nothing I can do? The system failed him.

ONDCP's Media Campaign Continues Push Against Meth

ANTI-DRUG UPDATE - June 4, 2008 ONDCP's MEDIA CAMPAIGN CONTINUES PUSH AGAINST METH **National Radio, Online and Print Campaign, and Targeted Local Television Ads Help Communities Combat Meth**This week, the National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign launched meth ads in support of its Anti-Meth Campaign for the second year.
You've probably all seen the Montana Meth ads and the praise it's getting in the media (based upon press releases sent out by Montana Meth, mostly, and the Attorney General's report). Their 120-page full report of the 2007 results obviously doesn't make it into a press release. I wanted to point out one thing for now. I'm still going through it for others

From page 4 "usage and availability"

* "Usage appears to be neither higher nor lower than in past surveys" (4% of teens, 20% of young adults) "essentially stable since 2005"

Also, I have previously noticed that the trends for teens may be improving, but the trends for young adults are going the other way.

I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts.

One idea for red ribbon that I heard being used is to incorporate a wristband into the program.

The youth are given a wristband at the beginning of the week and are asked to sign the back of the wristband with a permanent marker making their personal pledge to remain drug free. The students are then asked to wear the wristband for the remainder of the week.

Students who wear the band for a week are included in a small draw prize.

The wristbands are seen by parents, family, and friends and promotes the discussion of drugs.

To find a few companies that offer these type of products I would suggest doing a google search with "anti drug wristbands"
